Scope and objectives

This Network aspires to become a forum for the exchange of knowledge, and a focus for common action, by all those with an active interest in Automation and Control.

Control and Automation is very much a cross sector community and the development of control and automation technology is helping the general engineering industry to maintain a steady growth. There are early signs that the process automation market will continue to recover through 2011.

The Network covers the following technical areas in its scope:

  • Control over and of networks (wired and wireless)
  • Control of smart electrical power grids with distributed generation
  • Security of control systems
  • Control of the supply chain
  • Transport control
  • Control for biomedical applications
  • Oil and gas
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Fault Detection and Condition Monitoring
  • Data fusion/integration
  • Manufacturing automation
  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

How to join

To join this Network you must register on the IET website.

Registration is free to all visitors, and enables you to use our discussion forums, post comments on articles and blogs, and join the Contacts Network to locate and send messages to other professionals.
