- helps the IET Archives to research, record and preserve the history of technology
- assists in the collection of oral history material
- identifies - and seeks to preserve - relevant sites, records and artefacts at risk
- helps the IET Archives to answer queries from members, the media and others
- supports researchers, local history groups and others using the IET Archives
- encourages the publication of historical books and articles
- works with the IET Press Office on subjects of media interest
- produces an Annual Report and regular newsletters on its own activities and key events in the field
Membership is open to IET members, academics, information professionals, regular visitors to the IET Archives and others interested in, or involved with, the history of technology in the UK and overseas.
