Anne Locker, The IET

2010 marks the 70th anniversary of the development of the high-power cavity magnetron, a crucial technology for radar in World War 2.  Registration is now open for CAVMAG2010, a two-day conference being held by the IET, DEHS and IEEE at the University of Bournemouth on the 19-20 April.

The origins of the cavity magnetron go back to the mid-1930s with key work being done in Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Japan and the USA. The purpose of this international conference is to bring together knowledge of all this early work and to learn how the cavity magnetron has been improved and applied subsequently.

Registration has now closed for this event.
