Registration for our annual weekend meeting in Mulhouse, France, is now open. We hope to attract an audience of IET members as well as those with a general interest in the history of technology and the history of railway engineering.
To compliment the papers our organisers have negotiated some fantastic technical visits including the French National Railway Museum, the EDF 'Electropolis' Museum and a visit to the construction site of the Rhine-Rhone TGV rail link, including a presentation on the project.
The plans for dinner time look just as exciting with a civic reception in the historic Town Hall of Mulhouse and Conference dinner in a 100m high restaurant overlooking the town of Mulhouse!
Visitors can also make time to view the beautiful surrounding countryside, of particular interest is the Black Forest and the various wine districts. Why not take advantage of all that is on offer and add this to your holiday diary?
The event will focus on the history of railway and electrical (especially nuclear) power generation history, particularly related to France and Western Europe.
For the Mulhouse 2009 programme and registration form see the website.
Hurry- registration closes 30 June 2009 for our event being held 10-13 September 2009.
